What started off as a brief exchange last year with Phil Hardy ended up becoming the ‘Big Beery Night’ and in the process raised £3128.82 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The highlight of the evening being the auction and the now infamous £80 bottle of Pliny The Elder.
Well, not content with that, we’re doing it again this year and there are a number of ways that you can get involved on Friday 11 November. We want to go higher this year and have set a target of £5000.
We know these charities do a great job encouraging people to stop drinking for a month, but what if we turned that totally on it’s head? Let’s drink for charity and raise a glass to the ones we’ve lost by donating the cost of our drinks on that evening to Macmillan. This way we’re supporting our industry and charity at the same time.
There are a number of ways that you can get involved this year…
Donate | You can donate the cost of your beers on Friday 11 November through our Just Giving page here
Easy Donate | Text BBNT72 £5 to 70070
Auction | Once again we’ll be running an auction on the evening with some amazing ‘money can’t buy’ lots. We’ll be announcing these during #CraftBeerHour on 8 Nov. So far, we’ve got lots from Beer Doodles, Thornbridge, Magic Rock, NZ Collective and Beer Merchants to name a few, with many more still to be confirmed.
Local Events | If you run a bottle shop, bar or pub and would like to get involved, we’d love to hear what you’re planning and help give you a shout out for your efforts.
Please get involved folks, share this post and use #BigBeeryNight16 across social media and help us smash our target!
